Your part in our Wesley Hospital team

As part of The Wesley Hospital's theatre team, you will be accountable for the provision of safe and holistic care within your scope of practice to individuals and their families, supporting clinical staff as directed to achieve an environment for optimal patient outcomes within the theatre environment.

You’ll complete a range of non-clinical support tasks, with no patient contact, providing support to the Specialists and Clinical Staff in the set up of theatres for surgery, delivering an exceptional patient-centred experience by working collaboratively with your multidisciplinary team.

Some of your responsibilities will include
- Complete case set ups for Theatre
- Supporting theatres Sterile Store room
- Taking theatre lists and selecting appropriate preference cards for the surgeon/ anaesthetist
- Prepare any consumable, prosthetic and reusable medical devices (instruments) from theatre lists
- Support imprest monitoring
- Escalate any equipment shortfall to managers
- Maintenance of surgeon / anaesthetist preference cards
- Ensuring the store room is organised and free from hazards

What makes a difference for us?
- Minimum of 12 months’ experience in an acute or hospital environment desirable
- Knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safety practices
- Ability to work a flexible rotating roster
- Ability to work co-operatively as part of a multi-skilled, interdisciplinary team
- Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements
