Melbourne, Australia Lighthouse Foundation Full time

About the role

At Lighthouse Foundation, we do more than maintain homes - we create safe, stable and welcoming spaces where young people impacted by long-term neglect, abuse and homelessness can begin to heal.

We’re looking for a hands-on, practical all-rounder to join our team as the Property & Asset Coordinator. You’ll be responsible for the upkeep of our homes, hubs and vehicles - making sure they’re in line with our quality standards and suited to the needs of our children and young people.

HOW WILL I HELP?

Lighthouse homes and hubs are therapeutic spaces built around our Model of Care - designed to foster safety, connection and healing. As the Property & Asset Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in creating and maintaining these homes so that every young person who walks through the door feels valued and cared for.

You’ll work across 12 homes and 4 hubs around Melbourne, coordinating building and maintenance contractors, liaising with other Lighthouse teams to involve volunteers and corporate partners in procurement and working bees, and even rolling up your sleeves for the odd repair.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?
- Full time position with flexible work practices available
- Salary packaging benefits that increase your take-home pay
- Be part of a values-driven organisation where your work has real purpose
- Join a passionate team making a difference in the lives of children and young people
- Variety and ownership in your role, with no two days the same

WHAT DO I NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL?

From a professional standpoint you will require:

- Relevant experience in property, facilities, or asset maintenance, ideally within the residential or community housing sector. Trade skills and knowledge are desirable but not essential.
- Current driver’s licence
- Valid first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
- Criminal Records check
- Current Working with Children check

Other key skills which would be essential:

- Practical, hand-on skills and a willingness to get involved in getting things done
- Great organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and remain cool, calm and collected
- Experience working with external contractors and suppliers
- A genuine team player who collaborates well across teams and with a broad range of stakeholders
- An understanding of the importance of safe, well-maintained spaces and how this supports the well-being of vulnerable children and young people
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
