**Description**:
Quick overview of the role
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Fitter to join our Maintenance team at Currumbin. This role is responsible for the maintenance, overhaul and repair of machinery and equipment. The Fitter will be working in a fast-paced environment, delivering a safe and committed effort to service our workplace needs. This is a role requires forward thinking and sound initiative in order to achieve results safely within a team environment. This position is based at Currumbin.
What will you be doing?
Accurately report work undertaken and provide feedback on the condition of all equipment
Maintain and operate the preventative maintenance program in a timely manner
Deliver a prompt response to all requests for mechanical repairs through our maintenance requisition system
Assist in maintaining appropriate levels of spare equipment to ensure production reliability and minimise downtime
Provide maintenance fitting/ mechanical duties
Provide technical advice and support as required in order to resolve work problems or assist employees in problem solving
Use initiative to correct any obvious minor defects noticed during routine inspections
Build strong relationships with senior management and staff across the company
Complete the required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner. Ensure all records are maintained and show evidence of programming and costs associated
Ensure all equipment is fully functional, fit for purpose and performing to specification
Comply with Australian Standards, legislation and codes of practice
Detail machine components, assemblies, layouts and performance specifications
**Skills and Experiences**:
Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering / Certificate III Trade in Fitting and Turning
3 years' experience in a similar role
Driver's license required
Forklift license required
Hydraulic and pneumatic experience
Welding and thermal cutting experience
Experienced in problem-solving
Good written and verbal communication skills
