**Pastoral Care Worker**

**Full or Part-Time Position**

Carrington is a not-for-profit aged care provider located in Camden that integrates residential care, retirement living, and home care on its vast site of 450 acres. Built on a long-standing tradition spanning 130 years, Carrington is committed to providing holistic person-centred care that demonstrates its compassion, integrity, and sensitivity.

A unique and exciting opportunity has become available for a dedicated person to join our Pastoral Care team. As the Pastoral Care Worker, you will provide compassionate, competent, and respectful spiritual and emotional care in our aged care facilities. You will work in a supportive team environment in collaboration with our Pastoral Care Coordinator, multi-disciplinary teams, and local faith representatives.

As a member of the care team in the delivery of services, your primary focus is to ensure that the diverse pastoral, emotional and spiritual needs of residents, their families, and staff are identified and responded to.

The Pastoral Care Worker promotes and respects the vision, mission, and values of Carrington and ensures that our values of being considerate, attentive, responsive, and of excellence are reflected in all duties.

**The key skills you will require for this role include**:

- One or more 400-hour Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) unit or equivalent, or willingness to undertake within 12 months.
- Relevant theological/faith/spirituality education.
- Ability to assess, document, and administer a person-centred spiritual care plan
- Understanding of pastoral care issues relating to aged care.
- A genuine interest in older people and motivation to make a difference in their lives.
- Demonstrated empathy and affinity with older people and respect of their values and beliefs.
- Highly-developed communication skills and self-awareness.
- Highly-developed interpersonal skills with an emphasis on listening skills.
- Ability to work unsupervised and maintain professional boundaries.Effective time management, prioritisation and organisational skills, and computer skills.
