We are looking for an experienced **SMT Operator** **to join our Production team in a full-time role for 38 hours per week for either Morning/Afternoon shift: 7:00am or 3:00pm start. Penalty rates provided for afternoon shifts.

**Specific Role, Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- SMT assembly production line, including set up and halt any non-conforming process, and to inform the responsible Leading Hand or Manager.
- To proactively check own work to ensure defects do not occur.
- To verify the work of others as appropriate (e.g. verifying a feeder change).
- To monitor the usage of components and to be prepared for any replacements so that downtime is minimised.
- To notify the Shift Supervisor of any parts shortages before they cause work to be disrupted.
- To perform job changeovers in as short a time as possible.
- To operate the Solder Paste Screen Printer, monitor the acceptability of the output, and to take corrective action when required.
- To modify machine programs as required.
- To ensure that any equipment issued can perform the function for which it was designed (i.e. tools, Wrist straps).
- To log the time taken for a task against a job.
- Provide technical support to continuously improve SMT operations.
To assist in routine cleaning and minor maintenance of all Surface Mount equipment.

**Qualifications and Experience Required**
- 2-5 years of electronics industry experience.
- Diploma in Electronics or Certificate IV in Electrical/Electronic from TAFE, or equivalent
- SMT pick and place operation and experience operating YAMAHA SMT machines will be advantageous.
- Familiarity with electronic components
