Deli Assistant

**About the Role**

As a Deli Assistant, you’ll play an important role in delivering excellent customer service and maintaining the high standards of presentation and food safety that our customers expect. You’ll work as part of a friendly team preparing, displaying, and serving quality deli products in a clean, organised environment.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide friendly, efficient service to all customers at the deli counter.
- Prepare, slice, weigh, and package deli meats, cheeses, and other products.
- Maintain attractive and well-stocked product displays throughout the day.
- Follow correct food handling, hygiene, and safety procedures at all times.
- Monitor stock rotation and check product use-by dates before opening or serving.
- Assist with daily cleaning and sanitising of equipment, benches, and displays.
- Support with opening and closing procedures, including product preparation and storage.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve deli department goals.

**Skills & Experience**
- Previous experience in a supermarket or deli environment (preferred but not essential).
- Strong commitment to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and well-presented.
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays when required.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $24.95 - $39.83 per hour
