**About the Opportunity**

NSW Health Pathology have an exciting opportunity for a keen and motivated Medical Laboratory Technician to join our Clinical Chemistry team at the John Hunter Hospital. The John Hunter laboratory serves a wide community with specialties including trauma, obstetrics, cardiology, transplant, haematology and oncology for all ages. You will be part of a dynamic team of technicians and scientist with a positive culture who use the RITE values to serve our community.

We are currently offering one Temporary Full Time position at our JHH location. This is a maternity Relief position up to October 2026.

**What you'll be doing**
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of pathology services within a discipline relevant to the department, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems and Quality Systems
- Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner and to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment whilst working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes set to meet client expectations
- Customer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers and patients as well as clinical laboratory staff
- Commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement and to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities
