**Position overview**:
ANU has an international reputation for research and education relevant to the health and well-being of the population of Australia, as well as that of the developing world. This is achieved through discovery research, applied research in health service settings, research-led teaching in health and medical sciences, and the translation of research findings into practice and policy. The ANU College of Health and Medicine comprises the School of Medicine and Psychology, the John Curtin School of Medical Research and the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health. These schools work together to deliver world-class research and education across the spectrum of medicine and health-related fields, working in partnership with the health sector at local, national and international levels.

The second Position will support the Australian Amphibian and Reptile Genomics Initiative (AusARG), funded by Bioplatforms Australia, which seeks to improve genomic resources for understanding and protecting Australia’s unique amphibian and reptile diversity. The role will provide genome assembly, annotation and related data curation support to AusARG Projects, consistent with international standards for submission to data repositories. The Position reports to the NCIG Bioinformatics Lead
- and the Bioinformatics co-lead of AusARG, and will be responsible to the Manager of BRF for Bioplatforms Australia for progress reports. The Position will be based at the John Curtin School of Medical Research. Working in this position, you are encouraged to engage in relevant genomics research related activities virtually and in person within ANU and other partner organisations. You will liaise with stakeholders from the AusARG community, Bioplatforms Australia, the Australian BioCommons and national computing facilities such as the National Computational Infrastructure (NCI) and Pawsey.
