**What you'll be doing**

The Whole Family Team provides high quality care to families to ensure the provision of evidence based interventions and optimal health outcomes consistent with ISLHD policies, procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. This position provides the above service to the Whole Family Team. The Whole Family Team provides specialist clinical drug and alcohol and mental health services to families where there are also existing child protection concerns. These complex families often have co-occurring drug and alcohol and mental health issues, domestic violence, social disadvantage and other physical health and social issues. The role works intensively and assertively with families to assist in managing their mental health and drug and alcohol issues and developing the skills necessary to provide a safe and nurturing environment for their children.

**Talent Pool**

A National Police Check (criminal history record check) is a requirement for all new appointments to NSW Health and will be undertaken on preferred applicants, with the informed consent of the applicant.

This role is a **Category A **role. Preferred applicants will be reviewed for compliance and required to maintain compliance with the screening, assessment and vaccination requirements, relevant to your position, as outlined in NSW Health policy directive on Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases.

For positions designated as child-related employment, or positions that may result in proximity to children, you will be required to obtain a Working with Children clearance number from the Office of the Children’s Guardian.

Please note that a volunteer WWCC (which is free) cannot be used for paid employment.

Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in managing alcohol and other drug issues with superior skills/experience in bio-psychosocial assessment and interventions with families with complex needs.
- A demonstrated understanding of alcohol and other drug issues, and the harm minimisation philosophy.
- A proven ability to provide a range of interventions, e.g. case management, crisis management, advocacy and education.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal and written communication skills, including liaison and networking with other care and service providers and participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated competence in the use of electronic information systems.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence, with the ability to travel in accordance with position responsibilities.
