**About the role**
You will provide high level customer service and specialist ceramic skills to support classes in Ceramics. A key part of your role will be to foster a safe and positive learning environment by ensuring all materials are prepared and equipment is maintained to the highest standards.
Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring and purchasing supplies and equipment, as well as performing regular cleaning and housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe workspace.
You will also manage the processing of student ceramic coursework outcomes, including packing and unpacking, and the firing of all electric and gas kilns within the section.
**About You**
You will be customer service focused, you enjoy sharing your experience and knowledge in ceramics with students to support them on their TAFE NSW learning journey. You have a demonstrated commitment to WHS and proven ability in identifying risks, undertaking assessments, and identifying controls in your area of responsibility.
You have competence in operating machinery and equipment for ceramic classes, including firing kilns and mixing glazes. You will monitor and respond to potential WHS (Work, Health & Safety) risks. Some lifting and manual handling is required in this position. Additionally, you will be proficient with the use of computers and maintaining records relating to WHS.
**The successful applicant will**:
- Hold a Diploma (or above) in Visual Arts (Ceramics) or Ceramics, or possess equivalent skills, knowledge, and experience appropriate to the role.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and experience of use, care and maintenance of tools, equipment, materials and techniques used in trade/vocation/skills area applicable to the role.
- Proven ability to create, modify or adapt equipment or other resources to meet particular requirements.
- Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to work as a member of a team with mínimal supervision in area relating to the role.
**Highly Regarded**
- Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience in Ceramics.
