**The day to day**
An opportunity now exists at our ALS Geochemistry division at **Malaga** for a **Maintainer (Mechanical)** to join our team.

This **Full-Time** position involves actively undertaking routine, breakdown, and project maintenance of our large Fire Assay facility in our Perth Geochemistry laboratory.

This role will also coordinate with the site maintenance department to broadly support each other where required to ensure continuous operations. We seek someone driven to improve, reliable, and willing to learn. You will be an effective communicator and organizer who can promptly liaise with staff and management.

The successful applicant will receive on-the-job training in all aspects of laboratory equipment routine maintenance to ensure they fully understand the task and comply with ALS HSE policies.

The production environment requires managing exposure to Lead dust. This position will be required to follow HSE policies, including wearing PPE such as overalls and a respirator during operations. It also includes compliance with mandatory hygiene practices and undergoing lead monitoring.

**The Essentials**
- Trade qualifications are not necessary although highly regarded
- Welding experience highly regarded
- Excellent work ethic
- While this role is based on a day shift, you must occasionally be flexible with working hours to facilitate ongoing operations
- Committed to a safety culture while maximizing productivity
- The ability to work autonomously with mínimal supervision whilst being committed to the work of a team
- Current driver’s license (C class) manual
- A forklift license will be well-regarded
- Own transport to and from the workplace
- Proven ability to handle a busy and diverse workload
