Sheet Metal Worker

Glide Products is a privately owned Western Australian company and operates from its factory and office in Wangara Western Australia. Established in 1974 and ISO 9001 certified, Glide is one of Australia's leaders in the manufacture of powered and manual wheelchairs.

Due to continued growth are seeking an experienced sheet metal worker to join the team.

We are seeking a team player with a strong commitment to quality, safety and achieving high levels of productivity.

This role is offered on a casual basis with a view to permanency dependent on operational requirements. Hours of work will be Monday to Friday 7.15am-3.15pm. Award rates apply. Onsite parking is available.

**Key Accountabilities include**:

- Create, repair, replace or modify fabricated product components according to specific job instructions forms
- Process and control the surface finish of fabricated parts or components by using linishing and other techniques to produce a high quality of work
- Undertake fabrication and press shop duties as directed to achieve high levels of quality to meet customer expectations
- Maintenance of fabrication and press shop equipment
- Maintain the cleanliness and order of designated workshop in accordance with accepted standards and safety procedures
- Operate to ISO 9001 quality certification

**Skills and Experience**:

- 3-5 years’ experience as a Fabricator / Press shop within a small Medium Enterprise (Manufacturing environment - desirable)
- Team player with a strong commitment to quality, safety and achieving high levels of productivity
- Ability to learn and develop technical and product knowledge
- Understanding of work processes and ability to read and follow procedures and work instructions
- Demonstrated safe use of electrical assembly hand and power tools
- Demonstrated experience in delivering excellent customer service in a quality certified environment
- Sound time management skills with a high attention to detail and focus, especially whilst undertaking repetitive tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels within an organization
- Ability to build and maintain internal working relationships which contribute to a harmonious, efficient, and productive working culture
- Basic computer and information technology skills

**Desirable Qualifications**:

- Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade

- National Police Clearance
