**Role Description/Criteria**

**School Counsellor**

The successful applicant:

- Will have knowledge and experience in counselling particularly in relation to working with adolescents and their families
- Will have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children
- Will have experience in developing and implementing programs which meet the needs of specific groups of students
- Will have excellent communication skills
- Will have the ability to work successfully within a team
- Will have qualifications appropriate to the role
- Will have an understanding of Ministerial Order 1359 on Child Safety as it relates to the College’s Code of Conduct, policies, procedures and practice.
- Will be able to demonstrate a professional standard of practice in line with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) standards and code of ethics and/or the Australian Counselling Associations (ACA) or similar bodies.
- Will have a current Working with Children Check, National Police Check or be willing to undertake these
