We are seeking a new professional mermaid performer to join our pod for the upcoming summer season. This role is to step into the position of an existing mermaid, which means the successful applicant must fit our current costume and hybrid silicone tail.

Physical Requirements:
Dress size: AU 4-10
Height: 167 cm or shorter
No significant tattoos on the upper body (small or fine-line tattoos are acceptable)
Comfortable in swimwear and high-end silicone mermaid tails

Performance Requirements:
Extensive performance background in live events, stage, dance, circus, immersive theatre, dance, kids’ entertainment, or related fields (we are only hiring experienced performers)
Confident with improvisation and character work
Comfortable engaging with children, large crowds, and photographers in high-pressure environments
Professional presentation and performance discipline

Swimming Requirements:
Strong and confident swimmer
Able to open eyes underwater in various conditions (chlorinated, salt, ocean, lake, etc.)
Comfortable holding breath and performing short routines or poses underwater (training can be provided to enhance skills)
Any swim qualifications, life saving experience or similar is favourable but not required

What You’ll Be Doing:
Portraying a magical mermaid character at high-end events, public appearances, and children’s parties Swimming in pools and oceans in a realistic silicone tail
Interacting with the public in and out of water, staying in character
Participating in rehearsals, training sessions, and occasional promotional content shoots

Passionate about storytelling, magic, and live entertainment
Physically fit with excellent stamina and body awareness
Experienced in maintaining professional standards on set or at events
Punctual, reliable, and comfortable working under direction
Friendly and collaborative with a strong sense of play and joy

**Job Types**: Casual, Freelance

Pay: $150.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- On call
- Weekend availability

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)

Work Location: In person
