**THE ROLE**

Working within a small team of professionals led by the General Manager, Taxation, the role of Income Tax Manager will manage income tax and royalty matters for a large corporate group, including contract review. The role will be responsible for managing revenue office relationships and responding to revenue office reviews. It will also advise in relation to tax reform measures and engage in appropriate lobbying/submissions.

The role will be responsible for the review of income tax and royalty returns as well as the review and input into transaction models and economic models and oversight of tax effect accounting preparation

Key responsibilities will include:

- To be the lead corporate tax manager responsible for ensuring that income tax advisory and compliance obligations are appropriately managed including providing tax input into statutory, management, and joint venture reporting obligations
- To manage royalty compliance activities including liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and participating in law reform consultation processes.
- To oversee statutory tax effect accounting preparation
- To provide support in the management of due diligence and tax advisory requirements of Upstream acquisitions and divestments, including liaising with the business units, Corporate Strategy & Development, Group and business unit accounting, Treasury, in-house and external legal teams as well as external taxation advisors both local and international
- To manage revenue office relationships including providing input into income tax risk reviews conducted by the ATO

**IS THIS YOU?**

To be considered for this role you will have outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills that enable you to collaborate and partner effectively with the business and each function. You will have a continuous improvement mindset and a practical approach to problem solving. Relevant tertiary qualification (Accounting, Tax or Law) are expected.

You will also be able to demonstrate:

- Minimum 7 years experience in Australian income tax work, with experience gained in a professional top tier accounting firm or legal practice and in a large corporation
- Experience in tax compliance
- Strong Microsoft Office and Excel Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate and work well in a team
- Strong analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent time management

It would be advantageous if you also had
- Substantial experience working within tax advisory function of a large corporation
- Strong knowledge of other taxes including stamp duty and GST
- Experience with CCH Integrator
- Experience or knowledge of Energy industry
