**Introduction**:
Reporting to the Procurement Manager Cater Care is seeking the services of a Category Buyer (Fresh) to join our Procurement team. The position would ideally be based in Melbourne.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager Cater Care is seeking the services of a Category Buyer (Fresh) to join our Procurement team. The position would ideally be based in Melbourne.
This is an opportunity to be exposed to all aspects of retail procurement including; expediting, data analytics, commercial analysis, purchasing and POS systems, category management, tendering & managing supply agreements.
This position is an opportunity for a motivated self starter to grow, develop & foster a procurement career with ample opportunity to develop your skill set in a fast paced & growing sector of the economy.
This full time role will report to the Procurement Manager and will be responsible for the management of key fresh spend categories of; Protein, fruit and vegetables and bread. Servicing all Cater Care businesses, with the key focus on cost control, and quality management.

**Responsibilities**:
Manage the supplier relationships with a view to maximising value and improving safety performance
Sourcing of new suppliers & innovative new products
Management supply agreement KPI’s & supplier performance
Supplier Consolidation & rationalisation
Develop category plans for retail products
Identify key risks / point of failure within the supply chain & mitigate where necessary
**Skills and Experiences**:
**Your Knowledge, Skills and Experience**:
Previous procurement experience of fresh categories.
Proficiency in spreadsheets and analysis
Extremely strong stakeholder management and supplier engagement skills
Ability to work to various tender deadlines
Ability to work autonomously with a high attention to detail
