Junior Investment Analyst

As an Investment Analyst, you will play a vital role in supporting senior investment professionals in conducting financial research, analysing market trends, and evaluating investment opportunities. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands on experience in investment analysis, financial mode ling, and portfolio management within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will work closely with experienced analysts and portfolio managers to contribute to investment decision-making processes and assist in managing investment portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis Support: Assist in conducting financial analysis of companies, industries, and markets to assess investment potential. Compile and organise financial data from various sources for analysis and modelling purpose. Update and maintain financial models, spreadsheets, and databases used for investment research and analysis.
- Market Research Assistance: Support senior analysts in monitoring macroeconomic trends, industry dynamics and regulatory developments impacting investment markets. Assist in gathering market intelligence and conducting preliminary research on investment opportunities. Help in summarising research findings and preparing reports for senior team members.
- Investment Evaluation Assistance: Aid in evaluating investment opportunities across different asset classes, including equities, fixed income, and alternative investments. Assist in conducting due diligence on potential investments by gathering information, performing data analysis, and verifying assumptions. Prepare presentations, investment memos, and other documentation to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Portfolio Monitoring and Reporting: Assist in monitoring portfolio performance and maintaining performance tracking systems. Help in generating regular reports and presentations summarising portfolio metrics, performance drivers and risk factors. Contribute to ongoing analysis of portfolio holdings and assist in identifying areas for optimisation or re balancing.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the investment team, including scheduling meetings, coordinating communications, and organising documentation. Assist in maintaining investment databases, filing systems, and other records related to investment activities. Handle ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned by senior team members.
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Strong interest in investment management and financial markets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and willingness to learn from experienced professionals.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Previous internship or relevant work experience in finance or investment-related roles is a plus.
