**Position Information**:
Stanmore Public School is a vibrant, inner city primary school with a strong focus on academic excellence and positive wellbeing. The school is located in the inner-west suburb of Stanmore and has a current student enrolment of 561. A diverse student population is supported by well-established community partnerships that create a culture of inclusivity. The school promotes positive student engagement via the creation of a child-centred learning environment, where teachers and parents set high expectations of success for all students, working in partnership to support students to fulfil their potential in all areas of learning and wellbeing.

Students access classes in music, drama and languages (Chinese and Greek); participate in comprehensive sporting programs, an extensive instrumental music program and learn sustainable gardening and culinary skills via a well-established Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program. Staff are committed to continuous improvement in learning through quality teaching practices and programs.

There is an onsite Out of School Hours Care service that works closely with the school to service the needs of the school community. Students and staff are also well supported by a visible and active P&C committee focused on meaningful and purposeful consultation and collaboration between the school and community.

Evidence of outstanding interpersonal skills, strong communication practices and the ability to foster partnerships and opportunities at all levels of the local and wider educational community to inspire confidence in public education.

Proven outstanding strategic leadership, analysis and planning capability, combined with creative problem-solving skills to implement, lead and evaluate whole school programs and initiatives that lead to high quality learning outcomes for all students.

Demonstrated ability building staff capacity at all career stages through mentoring and support to further develop instructional leadership and outstanding teaching and learning across the curriculum, including literacy and numeracy.

Ability to implement and lead school wellbeing programs and practices to advocate for, support and engage a diverse community within a culture of relational trust via the building of positive partnerships with all internal and external stakeholders.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
