Mechanical Fitter

We are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our team at Ashton Coal. Applicants must have a commitment to working safely with a focus on maintaining the high standards at the mine.

**Job Tasks and Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Undermanager, responsibilities will include:

- Supervising the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of mechanical plant and equipment on site
- Conduct effective maintenance and fault-finding work on mechanical systems
- Monitor mechanical equipment to ensure it remains in a safe and fit for purpose condition

**Skills and Experience**:

- Minimum 2 years Underground Coal Mining Experience
- Mechanical trade qualification and Certificate of Proficiency (mandatory)
- A strong commitment to safety
- Sound analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills, both written & verbal
- Positive attitude towards and willingness to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

In addition to the above, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

- Tertiary qualifications in Fluid Power
- RII09 - Explose Protected Diesel Engine Systems Maintenance
- Hot Works training
- Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets
- HRWL - Dogging
