**The Role**
We are seeking passionate, innovative and solution focused Environment staff to take roles within the NSW Environment and Sustainability team. There are two (2) APS 6 Environment and Sustainability Manager positions, and one (1) APS 5 Estate Environment Officer position.

All positions have a diverse role description which includes:

- Provision of environment and heritage legislative, policy and technical advice to a range of internal and external Stakeholder and business partners;
- Implementation of Defence environmental and heritage policy and strategies;
- Oversight of land management activities on the Defence Estate;
- Environmental assessments and approvals of infrastructure projects and military training activities;
- Environmental risk appraisal and incident management oversight;
- Operating within an information and spatial management system; and
- Undertaking a broad range of stakeholder engagement and liaison.

An addition to the above requirements, the APS 6 Environment and Sustainability Manager positions are required to lead, guide, mentor and/or supervise other team members and undertake more complex packages of work.

**About our Team**
The NSW Environment & Sustainability Team (NSW ES Team) provide professional environmental, sustainability and heritage advice to multiple internal and external stakeholders in support of Defence environment and heritage policies and strategies.

The team is based in multiple locations across NSW and operates as a supportive and collaborative network to achieve our outcomes. The team collaborates in person regularly and also networks with environmental professionals across Defence to contribute National outcomes. The Team is part of East West Zone (ACT, WA and NSW) within Service Delivery Division of the Security and Estate Group and collaborate within this broader team.

Environmental management work in Defence is interesting, unique, diverse, and busy, however the outcomes that can be achieved are also very rewarding.
