Purpose of the Job

Key Responsibilities

Key Objectives
- Leadership, management, development and governance of WFS’ physical operations within Australia;
- Ensure that relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental (QHSSE) standards are implemented and adhered to at all of WFS’ locations within the region, in line with local regulations and WFS’ policy;
- Ensure that healthy working relationships are maintained across WFS’ supporting departments in order to promote a ‘one team’ mindset;

Leadership & Management
- Develop and maintain sound working relationships with WFS’ staff, site managers, operators and agents;
- Lead, manage and mentor WFS’ operational staff, site managers, and agents to ensure they carry out their roles in an efficient and effective manner;
- Provide sound operational, engineering and QHSSE advice to WFS operations staff, agents, and associated stakeholders whilst also maintaining a commercial focus;
- Represent WFS in a professional and dynamic manner across a broad range of stakeholders;

Customer Service/Business Development
- Ensure that agents and front-line staff operating WFS’ assets comply with WFS’ principles towards customer service;

Financial
- Assist in the development of WFS’ site annual operational and capital expenditure budgets;
- Ensure that all sites operate within their assigned budget allocation;
- Identify efficiencies associated with operating and capital costs, and implement improvements in consultation with relevant stakeholders;

Operations & Maintenance
- Plan and manage scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance;
- Assist in the forecasting of WFS’ customer demand;
- Forecast and ensure appropriate manning requirements for each WFS site;
- Plan work schedules to ensure workable customer solutions;

Governance
- Plan and execute site safety and compliance audits in accordance with JIG and local legislation (including Dangerous Goods and National Heavy Vehicle Regulations);
- Ensure that WFS’ sites adhere to relevant regulations and standards;
- Ensure that professional values are applied across the workforce including any dealers operating WFS owned assets;
- Ensure incident reports are responded to, recorded, and investigated as soon as practicable;

Contingency Planning
- Ensure that crisis management planning for WFS personnel, assets and agent operated sites are implemented and tested at regular intervals;
- Ensure business continuity planning is in place as per WFS policy;
- Identify, develop and lead projects (operational and engineering);
- Lead the development and execution of project governance functions;
- In consultation with relevant stakeholders, execute operational, engineering and commercial projects required to support WFS’ business objectives;

Key requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, engineering or other relevant field.
- Experience of leading geographically dispersed teams;
- Understanding of National Heavy Vehicle Regulations;
- Development of QHSSE culture and processes within operational environments within the aviation or fuels industry,
- Experience in FEEDs, HAZOPs, MoCs and PSSR processes;
- Sound understanding of standards and legislations relevant to the aviation fuels industry
- JIG Inspector qualification would be advantageous;
- Frequent travel is required to all of WFS’ Australian (~30) locations
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-starter and comfortable to work within team and remote environment
