Warehouse Hub Assistant

Outstanding oppportunity for an experienced Warehouse Hub Assistant to join a stable, inetrnational company

DIRECT REPORT: Hub Supervisor
- Supporting the Hub Supervisor in the operation of the Hub:

- Using Hub equipment to move and locate pallets of shipments
- Accurately recording all shipments imported to and reported from the Hub with particular attention to those shipments
- packed into export containers
- stripped out of import containers

Compliance

HR / Health & Safety
- Observing health and safety policies to work safely in the warehouse environment
- Following company procedures for health and safety when
- lifting / moving pallets
- Moving boxes to pack / unpack a container
- Using the warehouse equipment such as loading bay responsibly

Equipment Maintenance
- Assisting **Hub Supervisor** to conduct:

- daily safety checks
- regular checks on depot equipment e.g. loading bay / ramp
- Storing loading / unloading equipment safely and securely when not in use e.g. conveyors for boxes, steps for loading boxes above head height

Hub Performance
- Initial preparation for receiving maritime container
- Receive container and back chassis into depot for packing
- Inspect container for damage and remove any debris left from previous use
- Record container number and details for **Shipping Department**
- Preparation for unpacking a container
- Position pallets for unpacked shipments close to the container door
- Position equipment into place for safe unpacking by hand, above head height
- Unpack shipments onto pallets, consolidating shipments together
- Report damage, errors and omissions to the **Hub Supervisor**
- Preparation for the clearance of imported shipments
- Prepare shipments for inspection
- On the instruction of the customs / quarantine officer open shipments,
- assist inspection
- removing any items from shipment and place in containment area
- Reseal boxes, bags and label as inspected
- Accurately record the contents of a pallet of imported shipments
- Accurately record the location of the pallet in the warehouse for repositioning for delivery by other depots or Hub
- Conduct remedial work on imported shipments that are damaged to minimise the impact
- Preparation for the packing a container (in the absence of **Depot Assistant**)
- Receive container and back chassis into depot for packing
- Inspect container for damage and remove any debris left from previous use
- Record container number and details for **Shipping Department**:

- Pack larger items into container including MoveCubes
- Move equipment into place for safe packing by hand above head height
- Reconsolidating and update the contents of the pallet and relocate the racking.
- Assisting **Hub Supervisor** to:

- accurately recording the shipments being packed into a container for export
- Maximising utilisation of the space in the container during packing
- accurate recording the shipments being unpacked out of the container
- Recording and photographing any items identified by customs / quarantine officer during inspection and placed in the containment area, to be held for
- Confiscation
- Destruction
- Cleaning

Insurance claims and complaints
- Showing courtesy when customer visit the Hub (in the absence of the **Depot Assistant**)
- Providing the packing material purchased
- Assisting the customer to load / unload when they visit the depot
- Seal and wrap upon completion of loading / unloading
