**Your new role**
We have an excellent opportunity available for someone who is collaborative, compliance orientated and analytical to join our team providing operational support to the Regional Operations Manager NSW/ACT.
Your business acumen, strong communication and operational support skills along with your understanding of WH&S legislation will be highly regarded as you assist the operations function to achieve high standards of efficiency & productivity.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Assisting the Operations Manager to implement ideas and improvements to enhance operational efficiencies and reduce business costs
- Assist in analysing key data relating to machine utilisation and run times and make recommendations to help the business make informed decisions with respect to cost management.
- Providing support with month end duties including but not limited to verifying and providing information in relation to operational cost.
- Preparing Capital Expediture Requests (CER’s) for minor project work and replacement items as required.
- Analysing quotations received and recommend suppliers from whom goods, services or materials are purchased.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of processes so that all procurement is consistent with the needs of the organisation
**To be successful in this opportunity, you will have**:
- Tertiary qualifications in the Mechanical Engineering trade, Operations, or Business preferred
- Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills
- Numerical skills including the ability to work to budget within required deadlines and report on outcomes
- Experience in continuous improvement
- Attention to detail
- Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously with limited direction
- Awareness of applicable legislation
- Basic knowledge of operations principles and mechanical aptitude and awareness
- Knowledge and understanding of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal as well as processing techniques will be highly regarded
