The Role
We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified or experienced Library Technician to join the team.
The Library Technician performs a key role in maintaining and supporting the daily operations in the Waterford Learning Centre (WLC) and works in collaboration with the other Library staff to develop students into independent, critical, reflective, creative, collaborative and resilient learners who are equipped for lifelong learning.
**The key responsibilities of the role include**:
Maintaining a positive environment in the library which is respectful of all present and fosters student learning.
Providing direct customer support to students and teaching staff in the delivery of library services and resources
Providing access to information resources through efficient and well-guided systems for organising, retrieving and circulating resources
Supervising students while they use the Waterford Learning Centre during their recess and lunch breaks, during study periods and Homework Club outside school hours.
Facilitating and supporting student engagement experiences and learning initiatives in consultation with the Teacher Librarians.
All aspects of resource management and administration of student library information
Administration of student library information, including Oliver v5.
About You
Relevant Library Technician qualifications (Certificate IV or Diploma of Library and Information Services).
Strong technology skills
Ability to work both as part of a small team and independently Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students and suppliers.
Ability to demonstrate flexibility to multitask and respond quickly to changing priorities.
High ethical standards, confidentiality and integrity.
Willingness to support the Catholic ethos of the school
Possess a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
A commitment to the child safeguarding principles.
