Job Description

At our Brendale site, we produce blow moulded packaging that meet the most stringent requirements for products ranging from industrial chemicals through to food and pharmaceuticals.
As Maintenance Supervisor, over seeing a team of 5, you will plan and execute the mechanical maintenance function at VIP Packaging Brendale, whilst providing support to other departments i.e. projects, production.
The role is also responsible for ensuring the maintenance function is delivering best outcomes with accurate and timely response to operations at VIP Packaging Brendale.
**Key responsibilities**:

Manage and maintain the MEX maintenance schedule for mechanical works at the Brendale site
- Raise and Issue MEX Works Orders from Requests
- Coordinate and balance workload for site Mechanical Trades and Contractors
- Liaise with Electrical Trades and Electrical Supervisor
- Assign scheduled tasks and mechanical breakdown tasks to site Trades and Contractors
- Lead and or participate in Continuous Improvement Projects to achieve improved Safety, Productivity, Quality & Reliability
- Develop and maintain spare parts inventory
- Engage in relevant WHS campaigns that actively drive a culture of behavioural safety and preventative safety measures and activities.
- Maintain quality standards and controls to manufacture and produce packaging solutions that meet customer expectations and requirements
- Ensure that work is carried out in a safe working manner (Take5 & LOTO) and maintaining safe working environments.
- Issuing and amending SOPs.

To be successful in the role you will be able to:

- Improve machine availability by working with Engineering Manager on improvement / reliability programs
- Regularly update MEX system status & use.
- Continuous improvement in machinery safety and safe working practices
- Supervise and mentor team
- Bring solid experience in manufacturing processes
- Provide solid Maintenance planning and supervision.
- Understand of “good practice” preventative maintenance strategies
- Experience with MEX or equivalent maintenance operating system
- Hydraulic and Pneumatics experience
- Understand Blow moulding or want to gain experience in this industry
