**DEPARTMENT**:
Alfred Mental & Addiction Health is responsible for the operation of services, which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.

The single most important goal of Alfred Mental & Addiction Health is to create an environment that facilitates clinical recovery, supports individual recovery efforts and strives to minimise service system barriers to the recovery process.

Mental Health Social Work Practice aims to facilitate the improvement of mental health and the quality of life of consumers carers and families. Providing, support to secure resources and strengthen the prospects of the person's recovery.

The main goal is to provide an effective transition from the hospital to the community using individual and group evidence-based practice. Mental Health Social Work Practice aims to facilitate the improvement of mental health and the quality of life of consumers, support to secure resources and strengthen the prospects of the person's recovery.

Building on partnerships between mental health services and the community by networking and liaison with carers/families and community services will be a necessary and significant part of the role.

**QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**:

- Role models effective interpersonal skills and behaviors.
- Experience in working in teams and within multi disciplinary team
- Providing and accepting feedback to improve their individual and professional practice
- Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Clinical experience including, previous mental and Addiction health experience is desirable.
