Are you a data-driven thinker with a passion for public health? Step into a pivotal role as a **Biostatistician** with **Health Protection NSW (HPNSW)**. In this dynamic position within the **Epidemiology, Data and Systems (EDS)** team you’ll be at the heart of public health surveillance, working alongside epidemiologists, data analysts, and policy leaders to deliver high-impact statistical insights. Your work will inform real-time responses to notifiable conditions, guide public health strategy, and contribute to the development of sustainable data systems that support the entire Public Health Network.

Health Manager level 3, starting salary from $127,150 - $144,444 plus superannuation with a 38- hour work week.

**What you’ll be doing**
- Analyse and report on notifiable conditions using surveillance, immunisation, hospitalisation and death data
- Provide expert biostatistical advice to internal teams and stakeholders
- Develop and automate statistical programs for public health reporting
- Collaborate on research projects and data system improvements
- Mentor trainees and contribute to workforce development in biostatistics.

**About you**:
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

- postgraduate qualifications in biostatistics or equivalent experience
- strong skills in R for analysing population health data
- ability to deliver accurate, real-time analysis under pressure
- excellent communication skills for translating complex data into insights
- experience collaborating across diverse stakeholders.
