The **Future Generation Joint Venture** brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct **Snowy 2.0**. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.

Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.

**Purpose of the Role**:
This position is accountable for overseeing site-based environmental governance activities to support the construction team and ensure that Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV) operates in an environmentally responsible manner. The role involves implementing the FGJV Environmental Management Strategy, providing specialist environmental advice, coaching and mentoring site-based Environment Coordinators and Advisors, liaising with subcontractors and stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with statutory, FGJV, and client environmental obligations.

**Qualifications**:

- Tertiary qualification in environmental management or a related discipline
- Minimum class C driver licence
- White Card

**Experience**:

- Minimum 10 years of experience working in the construction industry in a similar role
- Experience in the development and implementation of Environmental management systems and plans
- Experience in the environmental approval process, preferably gained within civil construction and in NSW
- Experience working in environmental management on large and complex infrastructure or resource projects
- Extensive experience in liaison with governmental representatives and other stakeholder groups
- Demonstrated experience managing teams on environmentally sensitive projects

- Ability to maintain focus and deliver outcomes in dynamic or challenging situations while adapting to changing priorities

- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including formal consultation and report writing

- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with on-site construction teams programs

- Comprehensive understanding of ISO AS/NZS 14001, environmental management techniques and statutory approval processes
- Competent in regulatory liaison and consultation
- Exceptional knowledge and ability in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

**Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities**:

- Implement the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and associated plans, environmental policies, and practices to maintain compliance with statutory, FGJV and client environmental obligations.
- Provide specialist environmental advice to the construction management and site-based teams to ensure compliance with statutory, FGJV and client environmental obligations.
- Coach and mentor site-based Environment Coordinators and Advisors and facilitate career progression as appropriate.
- Assist in identifying environmental training requirements across the site and within the team.
- Promote a dynamic and positive QHSSE culture focused on achieving success by attending active project sites on a weekly basis.
- Liaise with subcontractors, providing support and advice for environmental performance matters and auditing them to ensure they are implemented.
- Ensure site environmental incidents are investigated and reported in accordance with reporting timeline requirements.
- Ensure Environmental Key Performance Indicators are reported.
- Liaise with all stakeholders (both internal and external) on environmental matters and implement relevant improvement actions.
- Ensure representation is maintained at key construction planning and coordination meetings.
- Liaising with internal staff, including managers and supervisors, and communicating HSSE issues and standards.
- Preparation and submission of internal and external environmental reports.
- Management and updating of site environmental deliverables.
- Environmental audits/ Inspections.
- Provide clear expectations of coordinators and advisors regarding deliverables to construction and management.
- Undertake additional tasks, as directed by the Environment Management team, to support FGJV’s Project QHSSE goals and values.
