Wind Engineering Manager

As part of its international growth, Neoen is developing, building, and operating several Renewable Energy (RE) Projects in Australia.
To support the growth of its Australian development project pipeline, the Australian Development team is looking for a Wind Engineering Manager for Australia.
The Wind Engineering Manager will work in close collaboration with the local Development and Procurement teams, as well as Neoen’s civil specialists, to improve and maintain the quality of the projects’ preparation and execution, especially from a wind monitoring and wind farm design perspective.
In this context, the Wind Engineering Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Support Neoen’s ambitious development plans and contribute to commercial development by providing technical expertise
- Provide wind engineering expertise and oversight in the development and implementation of bankable wind measurement campaigns, including activities relating to the purchase and coordination of mesoscale data, and met mast and RSD siting, procurement, installation and maintenance
- Oversee initial wind turbine siting on early stage projects, and support on subsequent layout revisions, micro-siting and design optimisation, including input into constructability reviews and planning and approvals processes
- Supervise Energy Yield Assessments, support in the appointment of wind energy consultants, and review and challenge their assumptions, methodology and conclusions
- Contribute to creating a common set of best practices at the company level, with the aim of ensuring consistency across projects
- Provide wind engineering advice and recommendations during EPC and O&M selection and procurement, including support on turbine selection, contractual negotiations, and turbine performance guarantees
- Support Neoen’s position on wind engineering topics during Due Diligence phases in the lead up to Financial Close, including direct engagement with the Lender’s Technical Advisor
- Assess technical trends and opportunities for design optimisation, and contribute to the qualification of new wind energy consultants
- Review performance of operational assets to verify development wind modelling assumptions
**N.B**: the position will involve travel within the state to engage with all project stakeholders and interstate travel to liaise with the broader Neoen team
- Degree in Science or Engineering
- 5+ year experience in the wind industry (project development, construction, operation, technical due diligence, expertise) with a strong understanding of technical topics
- Ability to challenge energy yield assessments
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of WindPro software preferred
- GIS experience preferred
- Language: Fluent in English
