**About the Role**

**This is a Fixed Term Position until 31st December 2025**

The Traffic Management Planner is responsible for providing expert traffic management intelligence to internal delivery teams and external stakeholders to ensure that project delivery outcomes are achieved.
This position reports to the Delivery Manager, Loddon Mallee, and works closely with the Team Leaders, Program Development Leads, and SRS Senior HSEQ and Risk Advisers.

The Traffic Management Planner is accountable for:

- providing traffic advice and related services to support the delivery of works on new and existing roadside assets.
- designing, amending and maintaining high quality traffic control guidance schemes and site-specific traffic management plans.
- ensuring plans are in accordance with legislation, company policies, procedures, and relevant standards.
- ensuring risk assessments, hazard identification and document controls are in place.
- This role will provide technical expertise to identify, evaluate and implement options for improving the on-road performance and the safety and efficiency of the road network, and will partner and collaborate with teams within DTP, other government organisations and the traffic management industry.

**Position Outcomes / Accountabilities**
- Proficient preparation of traffic management plans and traffic guidance schemes in accordance with the relevant legislation, company policies, procedures and relevant standards.
- Exercise analytical and problem-solving skills to pre-empt and mitigate risks in relation to all traffic management planning.
- Establish traffic management plans and processes that enhancing traffic flow outcomes, minimising disruption and protecting road users.
- Monitoring and maintaining accurate records for submissions and renewals.
- Contribute to the performance management of traffic management contractors against the VRMC Contract and works closely with the HSEQ and delivery teams to promote continuous improvement
- Collaborate and build strong relationships within DTP and external stakeholders, when developing and implementing plans
- Promote and support safe, inclusive and flexible team operations.

**Key Selection Criteria**

**Qualifications and Experience**

**Mandatory**
- Certification for RIICWD503E
- At least two years’ proven experience preparing traffic management plans and traffic guidance schemes (or similar relevant experience)
- Proficient use of traffic planning software e.g., Rapid Plan (Invarion), AutoCAD

**Desirable**
- Significant evidence of positive safety performance within the traffic management industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Road Management Act 2004 - (Worksite Safety - Traffic Management), the Australian Standard 1742.3 and the Road Safety Traffic Management Regs 2019).
- Understanding of the proposed AustRoads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management (AGTTM)
