Being an OSHC educator holds a lot of flexibility to prioritise study or family needs, and at the Y, you might just discover a family of your own - we have a supportive on the ground and at head office.
**What being an OSHC Educator Entails**
OSHC educators care for children before school, after school and during school holiday periods. Highlights include running fascinating, fun-filled and educational activities with primary school children - such as science experiments, outdoor games and painting.
As an OSHC Educator you will:
- hold a rewarding, challenging and interesting position;
- be able to allocate your availability to suit study or family needs;
- have the opportunity for career advancement;
- join a team of dedicated staff and fantastic children and families;
- be eligible for staff incentives and discounts; and
- be provided with regular professional development and training.
**Your workspace at the Y**
**YMCA Kedron Outside School Hours Care (OSHC)** provides a safe and nurturing environment which gives children the opportunity to learn and play. We are located in the heart of Kedron State School and pride ourselves on being a part of this thriving community.
YMCA Kedron OSHC offers Before School Care (6:30am to 8:30am), After School Care (3pm to 6pm) and Vacation Care (6:30am to 6pm) every week day, except public holiday. We are licenced for 126 children. Our menus contain a range of nutritious food catered to the taste and allergy requirements of our children.
Our service runs programs and activities aligned with the YMCA mission, to provide opportunities for all people to grow in body, mind and spirit. This includes a wide range of fun, stimulating and appropriate programs that reflect real world experiences and home settings. This helps encourage a sense of community amongst the children, facilitates leadership skills development and allows your children to practice social skills in a supported caring environment.
The YMCA is the fastest growing OSHC provider in the South East with over 50+ services, which in turn provides our staff with the ability to grow and move through the company as their careers head to the next level.
**To be successful you must have**:
- A Certificate or Diploma qualification in Children Services or equivalent or if you are studying towards a relevant qualification
- A Fantastic sense of fun & a tremendous imagination
- Hold or are willing to obtain a current First Aid and CPR certification
- Current Blue Card or willing to obtain one
