**About the opportunity**
The role of the Grade 3 Allied Health Assistant involves leading the Physiotherapy AHA team in workload management, quality improvement, professional development and student supervision. The role also entails supporting the Physiotherapy team in providing person-centred care, performing non-clinical duties and managing a caseload for clients in community and clinical settings. The role requires excellent administrative, IT, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in various locations and a commitment to improving health service delivery.
***What you will be doing**
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide physiotherapy interventions under the delegation of physiotherapists in either group or individual sessions located in the clinic or community settings
- Provide timely feedback and report any changes in client status to the treating Physiotherapist and/or relevant care provider to minimise potential adverse effects
- Work collaboratively with clients, families/carers and other providers to ensure therapy and supports reflects a consumer and person-centred care focus
- Provide leadership within the Physiotherapy AHA team in the delivery of clinical services including promotion of an active learning environment, advocacy, AHA workflow and processes
- Support Physiotherapy Manager to develop and embed practices and processes that drive productive and efficient teamwork.
- Lead and/or participate in the planning, coordination and delivery of practical placements and supervision of AHA students
- Supported and directed by the Physiotherapy Manager and/or Senior Clinician, provide support and training for volunteers.
**What you will bring**
**_Key Selection Criteria_**
- Certificate IV Allied Health assistant or relevant work experience, training and education
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an Allied Health Assistant role within a health environment
- Clinical skills and experience in the delivery of group and individual Physiotherapy AHA services for community and clinic based clients
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary service and team environment, with onsite or remote supervision
**Attributes**
- High level clinical skills and experience in the delivery of Physiotherapy AHA services with any one of the following: neurological, disability, geriatric or musculo-skeletal diagnosis
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement and health promotion principles
