**ABOUT THE BRANCH & TEAM**
**The Procurement and Discretionary Payments Branch**
The Procurement and Discretionary Payments Branch is responsible for procurement policy development, providing advice to the Government on the procurement policy framework and developing supporting guidance for Commonwealth entities. The Branch provides technical advice to support international trade negotiations and/or obligations on government procurement.
In addition, the Branch manages act of grace payments and waivers of Commonwealth debts under the PGPA Act. The Branch is also responsible for the delivery of enhancements in information and reporting for the Strategic Procurement Branch.
The Procurement and Discretionary Payments Branch consists of four sections:
- Procurement and Grants Information Systems
- Procurement and Trade Policy
- Discretionary Payments Section
- Information Capability Enhancement Section.
**The Procurement and Grants Information Systems Team**
The Procurement and Grants Information Systems team consists of two sub teams, Projects and Technology and Operations. We require a diversity of people and skills to contribute with the development and implementation of several whole of Australian Government Procurement, Contracting and Grants information systems. **ABOUT THE**
**OPPORTUNITY**
In this role you will work in the Technical Services team within the Procurement and Grant Information System (PGIS) section. PGIS aims to enhance transparency and support data-driven decision making across government. You will primarily work with data, information management tools and visualisation software. There will also be an opportunity to be involved in a wide range of services across AusTender and GrantConnect including, ICT security, data analytics, and system enhancements. You will generally work in office and not be required to travel.
Your core duties will include:
- Providing high quality data analysis to support the Senior Executive and the Government to assist with decision-making.
- Collaborating with service providers in a DevOps environment to ensure business objectives are met.
- Writing requirements and conducting testing of system enhancements.
- Supporting external Commonwealth entities with improving their data quality.
