**Position Information**:
Ettalong Public School is a large primary school located in the regional north area of the Central Coast. The school has an enrolment of 515 students which includes four classes of students with diagnosed disabilities, with teaching and support staff having a wide variety of experience and skills. The performing arts and sport are strongly supported by students and parents alike. Students are from a variety of socio economic backgrounds with 12.5% identifying as Aboriginal. As well as teaching and administration staff, a school counsellor and an Aboriginal Education Officer complete the friendly, cohesive setting. Our P&C are a small but friendly, hard working group of committed parents and community members.
We continue to build the skills and knowledge of our teachers through ongoing Professional Learning which make strong links with the Professional Standards for teachers and leaders. Our school plan has a significant school improvement focus in the areas of teaching and learning.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary
- Demonstrated capacity to balance exemplary classroom teaching practice with the complex leadership and management role of an Assistant Principal.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and inspire a team and show educational leadership and implementation of the new K-2 reforms.
- Proven ability to work cohesively as a member of the executive team to initiate whole school programs and to lead and implement the school improvement plan.
- Demonstrated strong commitment to all aspects of student achievement through highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and the wider community.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
