**Tax Directors - International Tax (EL1 and EL2)**

**The role**:

The team plays a key role in ensuring multinational enterprises, large public and private businesses and associated individuals pay the right amount of tax in Australia.

**As a member of the International team, you'll**:

- identify risks and opportunities and actively share information with peers to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of compliance and assurance activities
- scrutinise complex structures and transactions and prepare legal positions
- work as part of a team of professionals
- develop and manage key stakeholder relationships, communicate with influence, and provide persuasive and accurate advice on complex, technical and sensitive issues
- mentor others within and outside your team, continuously building expertise and capability in the relevant area of tax specialisation

**As an International Tax Technical Specialist you'll**:

- identify, analyse and provide advice on common international tax planning and profit shifting techniques and arrangements
- analyse tax risks in relation to mergers and acquisitions, cross-border tax structuring and transactions
- use your understanding of Australia's tax laws to identify, monitor and address emerging international tax planning techniques

We want to hear from people who have some, but not necessarily all, of the following:

- Expertise in inbound and outbound international tax structuring for multinational enterprises, including cross border intragroup transactions and structuring involving intangibles
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions, tax treaty planning, financing, hybrid mismatches and cross border tax structuring involving profit repatriation and exit strategies
- Australian transfer pricing expertise and experience with international transactions and structures, including financial market transactions
- Knowledge of international tax laws in foreign jurisdictions, specifically knowledge of US tax laws

**We also are looking for**:

- EL1 = 5 + years' experience in corporate & international tax, currently at least Manager level
- EL2 = 7+ years' experience in corporate & international tax, currently at least at experience Manager/Senior Associate level
- Knowledge of the broader taxation environment, relevant policy, procedures, legislation and frameworks
- Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail
- Ability to coach, mentor and develop team members and make positive contributions to achieve team goals
- Strategic thinker with strong problem solving skills
- Sound judgement and ability to present arguments in written and verbal form
- The ability to develop and form strong working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to influence outcomes
- Extensive people management experience
- Experience managing and influencing stakeholders at all levels
- Tertiary qualifications in either Tax Law, Accounting or Commerce (or equivalent) is required
- Recognised experience within either a Big 4 or mid-tier professional services firm or in-house role in a multinational corporate tax environment (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
