**About the opportunity**

This is a unique opportunity to shape a newly established role and the future of data and AI governance at Healthdirect. As the Data and AI Governance Advisor, you will build our governance approach from the ground up, advise internal stakeholders, uplift capability, and embed governance pathways to ensure data and emerging technologies are used safely, responsibly, and effectively.

You will play a pivotal role in key strategic initiatives, including Consumer Identity, AI Governance, and Data Utilisation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Translate strategic vision into actionable outcomes and embed governance elements into high-impact initiatives.
- Lead as a trusted advisor, offering expert guidance on emerging data and AI governance challenges.
- Provide expert advice on data and AI governance and associated risks, ensuring alignment with regulatory and organisational standards.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and build shared ownership of key data and AI governance initiatives.

**You can contribute through your**:

- Tertiary qualifications in information management, law, data science, technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of data governance experience.
- Demonstrated experience in data and/or AI governance in a complex organisational setting.
- Familiarity with data protection laws, ethical AI principles, and data management standards.
- Experience in developing or implementing data and AI governance frameworks, policies, or governance tools.
