We have an exciting opportunity for you to become an integral part of our dynamic team as an HSE Advisor in the Rail & Technology Division.

**The Opportunity**
- HSE Advisors hold an important role for UGL, they are a key agent in controlling the company’s risk profile and the work that they when supporting construction activities directly contributes to the fulfillment of contractual obligations and client satisfaction. A HSE Advisor is always focused on making sure that there is a compliant construction execution plan in place, and that the plan is being adhered to. HSE Advisors are allocated to multiple projects at a time, so they always have variety in the mix of activities on their plate depending on the phase of each project.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Support the Project Manager/ Construction Manager to develop a robust construction execution plan by obtaining authoring various planning deliverables (e.g., Safety Management Plan, Environmental Management Plan, HSE Risk Register, etc.).
- Support project construction teams to generate the “how” elements of work execution (e.g., Safe Work Method Statement reviews, high risk work permit reviews, etc.).
- Support project construction teams with site mobilization activities (e.g., Emergency Response planning, Traffic Management planning, the creation of induction material, plant & equipment mobilization administration, etc.)
- Support project construction teams with site demobilization activities.
- Support the project procurement process by providing HSE inputs into the “scope of supply” information for use in subcontracts and by supporting HSE reviews of potential new vendors.
- Produce regular Project and Business Unit level reports that are accurate, on time, and meet all defined expectations.
- Support and maintain a safe and healthy workplace and for adherence to company policies and other applicable laws, regulations, and standards for the workplace; ensuring that practices adopted reflect a commitment to the highest standard in OH&S and environment.
- Develop Tender deliverables in accordance with the project scope of works and in accordance with UGL PMO requirements where required.

**Requirements to be successful**
- Tertiary Qualification (Diploma or greater) in a Workplace Health Safety and Environmental related discipline.
- Formal training in Quality Management (Desirable).
- Cert IV Training and Assessment. (Desirable).
- Incident Investigation Trained (ICAM preferable).
- Internal WHS Auditor (Environmental Auditing advantageous).
- HLTPAT005 - Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing.
- CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry.
- HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support.
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.
- MSMPER300_Issue Work Permits (Desirable).
- Rail Industry Workers Card holder.
- PTA Supervised Worker Endorsement (Desirable).
- Knowledge of the WHS, Environment and Workers Compensation legislations.
- Demonstrated capability to develop and implement safety management systems.
- Thorough knowledge of AS/NZS ISO 45001, 9001, 14001 and, ISO 31000.
- Proficient skills in computers: Microsoft 365 business product and event case management systems.
- Experience working in a live / operational railway environment.
- Experience working in a civil construction environment.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in a Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality role in the Rail Construction/Infrastructure industry.
