**About National Trust Queensland & the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital**
Since its creation in 1989, Currumbin Wildlife Hospital has grown to be one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the world, now treating over 13,000 animals every year. In addition, the hospital provides veterinary care to the Sanctuary animal collection and conducts world-leading research and conservation projects.
The hospital is located within the grounds of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, one of 12 properties managed by National Trust of Australia Queensland (NTAQ). NTAQ is a membership-based community organisation and registered charity that works to **protect, conserve, and celebrate the Environmental, Built and Cultural heritage of our State**.
To support the ever-increasing expansion of the Wildlife Hospital operations, we have opportunity for a **Hospital Team Manager** to join our highly respected Wildlife Hospital team to support and supervise the Hospital Team & make a genuine difference.
**About the Role**
The Wildlife Hospital is a dynamic & fast paced environment, and the Hospital Team Manager will support the day-to operations of the Hospital, including providing operational leadership, communication and business support to the Hospital Team (of up to 30 people per shift) which also includes passionate volunteers and students.
As an experienced and people-focused Hospital Team Manager, you will directly manage team members and develop rosters, training plans and systems to enable smooth, efficient and effective processing of daily operational tasks and responsibilities at the Wildlife Hospital.
Reporting directly to the Head of Veterinary Sciences, this additional management role will provide them with administrative and team engagement support including managing team rosters, coaching and counselling team members, and producing timely and accurate reports on hospital data. This role will also support our education, community-based & corporate events and activities.
**About You**
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in team management and previous managerial experience within a medical or veterinary establishment would be highly desirable. Other key skills and qualifications we are looking for include:
- Proven ability to lead, manage, coach, and motivate a diverse team and experience working effectively with volunteers is highly advantageous.
- Experience within the animal welfare or veterinary industry is desirable but not essential.
- You will be an energised, diplomatic, highly capable, and personable individual with a genuine interest and passion for conservation.
- Well-developed organisational and project management skills with proven ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to share your knowledge, manage and motivate.
- Comfortable in a workplace that will include injured mammals, birds and reptiles, including snakes.
- Available Monday to Friday with some weekend work required.
