Our objective is to provide quality traffic survey information and advice for the public, private and business sectors. Traffic surveys include pedestrian counts, speed surveys, parking surveys, intersection counters and automatic traffic counters. **Your new role** This role will involve driving to different locations throughout Sydney and installing roadside traffic survey equipment, including but not limited to; Traffic Counters, Video Cameras, Bluetooth devices, and noise loggers. The work requires precision, problem solving skills, independent thinking and a safety-first mindset - we can teach you all the "hands-on" processes and procedures. In addition you will; - Deliver accurate and precise installation of various roadside traffic equipment; - Adhere to workplace health & safety regulations, through completing QA sheets and Safe Work Documents correctly with attention to detail. - Monitor equipment functionality and replace faulty/broken equipment when necessary; - Report all roadside traffic equipment related issues to project manager; - Ensure installation is carried out according to mapping and instructions by project manager; - Ensure that all equipment is tracking or recording required sources (vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians, etc.) and collected appropriately on job completion; - Carry out quality assurance on collected survey data, including that the video recording is not interrupted by sunlight, rain, fog, etc and that data isn't faulty; and - Participate in Training and safety assessment of other staff as you progress in your skillset. The majority of work will be carried out in the evening and night, during school term. Day time work will include training, attending meetings and workshops as well as supporting other requirements (this usually occurring during school term holidays). Occasional overnight travel may be required (Matrix covers additional costs). **About you** Due to the nature of the role, you must hold these mandatory qualifications/licences: - Drivers licence; - White card; - An understanding and/or experience of Traffic Control is desirable but not essential - COVID-19 vaccination certificate (Including upkeep of future vaccinations/booster requirements as outlined by relevant State and federal government requirements) In addition you are able to; - Work outdoors in a busy traffic environment on a regular basis with a high commitment and awareness of safety. The work will take place mostly during the night, with regular work during the week with occasional weekend work. - Work efficiently with power tools to safely install equipment, and use of a ladder to install it at the optimal height. - Use technology to configure equipment and check data - Communicate professionally with team mates, traffic control partners and members of the public - Exhibit a safety-first mindset at all times Matrix are proud to be an inclusive, family friendly and supportive workplace, where diversity, differences and individuality are embraced and respected.
