**Position Information**:
The Leader Psychology Practice, coordinates and professionally supervises a team of school counsellors/school psychologists to deliver high quality psychological services to schools. They work closely with schools, other members of educational services teams and agencies to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes.

The Leader Psychology Practice provides professional leadership in the delivery of psychological services to school communities and has a key leadership role as part of the networked specialist centres.

This position may be eligible to be relocated to another base school within the geographical area supported by the role. For clarification, please contact the panel convenor.

The Leader Psychology Practice leads and supervises a team of Senior Psychologists Education to provide high quality psychology services in NSW public schools.

The Leader Psychology Practice develops and implements strategies to enhance psychology services in schools, including professional development and support for the school counselling workforce.

The Leader Psychology Practice will not be required to teach or undertake teaching duties as defined by the Teacher Accreditation Act 2004 as amended.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Successful school counselling service experience and registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia
- Capacity to professionally develop and supervise the clinical practice of senior psychologists education and district guidance officers, including professional support in complex case presentations
- Demonstrated capacity to lead school counselling service staff to implement evidence based counselling and wellbeing approaches including the delivery of innovative counselling services in rural and remote NSW
- Extensive understanding of legislation, policy and procedures relating to psychology and wellbeing services in NSW public schools and the standards of the Psychology Board of Australia

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
