**About the Position**

The Grounds Maintenance Officer is responsible for maintaining the required appearance of the site and attending to any maintenance issues as they arise and in accordance with the requirements of the site.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Maintain to a high standards the public open space areas
- Maintain garden beds including pruning, weeding, fertilizing, replanting, mulching, and hedging as required
- Mow and edge areas as directed by your Manager
- Provide advice to your Manager on replacement plants which must comply with the site’s overall strategy to provide water tolerant, low maintenance and aesthetic outcomes
- Spray for all weeds and pests when required to common areas
- Collect rubbish bins from around the site for disposal
- Clean and maintain the pool and pool area in accordance with procedures (if applicable)
- Arrange and administer all repairs and/or maintenance to tools and equipment
- Report any issues relating to grounds maintenance to your Manager
- Undertake regular audits and inspections of all facility buildings and grounds to ensure there are no WHS issues
- Report all accidents, injuries, damage, theft and breakdowns of equipment to your manager and keep records
- Comply with council water restrictions and watering times
- Comply with Ingenia’s WHS
- Policy and Procedures and any reasonable instructions from any supervisor/authorised representative of the company concerning health and safety matters
- Participate in identifying, assessing and controlling risks and hazards in the workplace
- Treat all management and fellow team members with respect to support a team environment and provide high levels of service and support

**About You**
- Current “C” class drivers licence (site dependent)
- Sound Horticulture Knowledge
- Minimum 1 years previous experience in garden maintenance
- Ideally have a Certificate III parks and gardens (not essential)
- Previous experience working as handyman or in a maintenance role
- Demonstrated capability and experience in carrying out garden maintenance and ground works

**Physical Requirements**
- Frequent lifting of rubbish bins, tools, plants and gardening products
- Use of all gardening equipment, lawn mower and potential use of site vehicle and associated maintenance
- Repetitive use of muscular force, bending, twisting and stretching when carry out G&M tasks
- Frequent walking around the site
- Use of PPE such as hearing protection, eye protection and gloves
