About the role

Key responsibilities include:
- Transporting patients from ED to the wards.- Managing multiple tasks and prioritising workload- Transporting patients within the department including radiology (including Resuscitation patients, ICU level patients)- Delivering care to patients under the supervision and direction of the registered nurse (including assisting with meals, continence care, pressure injury care)- Providing visual observation of patients and related reporting to the registered nurse, assisting with Falls Prevention strategies in the ED- Responding to patient and family queries and referring to the registered nurse as required.- Maintaining the patient environment, including bed making, restocking consumables and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.- Maintaining patient privacy and dignity and responding to their emotional, spiritual and cultural needs.

About you

This role will suit an individual who has worked in an emergency department, desired, and has proven experience in providing patient care. This role requires you to work in a busy environment

You will have:
- Health Service Assistance qualifications or relevant qualifications as outlined in the position description.- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and capacity to develop trust and relationships with patients.- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential issues.- Experience in an acute hospital setting is desired.- Proficient computer skills.
