**_About the role_**

Our Organisation strives to deliver professional and reliable service to our clients. This role is very important in our community as you will be assisting separated parents, often entangled in high conflict, to reconnect with their children in a safe and supportive environment. You will be responsible for running visitations smoothly, and safely and ensuring visiting parent is child-focused and follow the court orders.

You will be a positive role model and guide the parents and the children in building meaningful and positive relationships. You will need to be alert and prepared to de-escalate any arising conflict.

During each visit, you will document your observations of the interactions that occurred between the child and the parent. Training and templates will be provided for report requirements and obligations. The supervised contact visitations usually take place in safe, neutral, and natural environments, such as a park, library, play centres, shopping centres or parent’s home.

**_Selection Criteria_**

To be successful in gaining this position you must have the following:
1. Relevant Tertiary Qualifications: in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, Welfare Studies, Child Care or equivalent.

2. Demonstrated experience and ability to build rapport and comfortably and positively communicate with parents/carers, colleagues, children, and young people.

3. Demonstrated knowledge in child protection, child development stages, family violence, mental health, substance abuse, and family law.

4. Experience in working with complex situations and the capacity to de-escalate conflict and the ability to manage challenging behaviours.

5. Ability to observe the interactions and prepare well-written reports.

6. Access to own reliable car, computer and phone. Good driving record and current licence.

7. Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or willing to obtain)

8. Current First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)

9. Complete and up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination certificate

10. Willingness to travel around Sydney to different suburbs and parents’ homes

11. **Available to work** **30 hours per week on Wednesday (8hr), Thursday (8hr); Saturday (9 hr), and Sunday (7 hr) including some Public Holidays. Weekend availability is paramount for this role**

**Salary**: $41,568.00 - $43,289.00 per year
