National EHS Specialist

Sugar Australia has an exciting opportunity for a National EHS Specialist to join our team in a permanent full-time capacity, based at our Yarraville, VIC head office. Reporting to the National EHS Manager, this role will play a crucial part in leading and supporting initiatives that enhance Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) systems and performance across Sugar Australia.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Leading, facilitating and supporting projects focused on improving EHS systems and performance across Sugar Australia.
- Ensuring effective communication and implementation of EHS management systems across all Sugar Australia locations.
- Facilitating activities to enhance environmental control measures and effectively manage impacts.
- Ensuring compliance with licences to operate and improving environmental performance.
- Coordinating the Sugar Australia auditing program, coaching and mentoring auditors, and conducting necessary audits and inspections.
- Providing hands on coaching, support and advice to stakeholder groups to help them understand and manage key operational risks to increase EHS capability.
- Mentoring sites in the implementation of annual EHS Management reviews and the development of annual EHS Plans.

This role will also involve some interstate travel to support our national operations.

**What we're wanting you to bring to the table**:

This role is ideally suited to someone with a proactive approach to EHS and a strong ability to influence and mentor others. You should have:

- A tertiary qualification in Health, Safety and Environment, and/or relevant industry experience.
- EHS (ISO 45001/14001) Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualifications.
- 5-10 years of experience in the FMCG industry.
- Knowledge of EHS regulatory requirements relevant to manufacturing and food businesses.
- Strong understanding of ISO standards related to EHS.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to drive change across functions.
- Proven experience in EHS management systems implementation and auditing.
- Experience with incident investigation (e.g., ICAM) is desirable.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable.
