**About the Company**

The Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) delivers legal, court and supervision services to the people of NSW by managing courts and justice services, implementing programs to reduce crime and re offending, managing custodial and community-based correctional services, protecting rights and community standards and advising on law reform and legal matters.

Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) delivers professional correctional services and programs to reduce the risk of re-offending and enhance public safety. It serves a key function of the NSW Communities and Justice Sector by providing effective, safe and humane management of offenders both in custody and in the community CSNSW also works in partnership with other government and community agencies to ensure that offenders and their families are supported.

**About the role**

The General Manager role provides leadership and direction for the effective and accountability-based management of all aspects of the Security Operations Group (SOG), including the provision of SOG staff attached to Immediate Actions Teams in Correctional centres and across Corrective Services New South Wales (CSNSW). The General Manager role also drives initiatives to achieve continuous improvement in security management and operational practices.

You understand the diverse correctional environment and working with people in custody. **Essential requirements**
- Driver’s Licence with the ability and willingness to drive throughout NSW
- Be available on call at set times to respond to emergencies

**Job Notes**: Part of the assessment process includes additional online capability testing, skills testing or work samples in accordance with the Government Sector Employment Act 2013.

Should you be successful and do not hold a current Certificate III in Correctional Practice, you will be required to complete the Certificate III in Correctional Practice or specified mandatory training in accordance with specified CSNSW timeframes and requirements.
