**Caterpillar of Australia Pty Ltd has an opportunity for energetic and committed individuals to support a team of warehouse associates as a Leading Hand at Melbourne Distribution Centre (MBDC). The successful Associates will be responsible for supporting the Warehouse Coach/s to execute daily warehouse activities by engaging employees in their relevant Process Areas.

**PRIMARY DUTIES (but not limited to)**:

- Proactively promote, monitor and improve safety within all areas of MBDC
- Promote and demonstrate behaviour in line with Caterpillar’s Values in Action - Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, Commitment and Sustainability
- Drive continuous improvement and quality expectations.
- Work with Coach/s to initiate and conduct Process Improvement Dialogues (PIDs) & Safety Improvement Dialogues (SIDs)
- Evaluate waste or imbalance and adjust workflows accordingly, including delegation and scheduling of work tasks
- Collect data and update metric boards, monitoring People, Quality, Velocity and Cost (PQVC) performance
- Train and develop employees on all processes, Safe Job Procedures (SJP’s) and Standard Work
- Promote strong collaboration and partnerships within all Process Areas
- Work closely with your Coach to identify skills gaps and develop your own Individual Learning Plan (ILP)

**ELIGIBILITY**:
To be successful in this position, you must possess the following:

- Strong focus on Safety & Quality
- Strong Systems based Knowledge of SAP
- Passionate about leading, motivating, engaging and mentoring people
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening skills with the ability to liaise effectively with warehouse employees and MBDC Leaders
- Willing to take initiative, act decisively and proactively to remedy situations
- Strong understanding of Stock Record Accuracy practices, CPS and Continuous Improvement
- Previous experience leading a team will be highly regarded
