The Research Development Manager (Strategic Initiatives) will help lead the strategic development of major research initiatives and proposals—especially those aimed at government, philanthropic organisations, and other major funders both in Australia and internationally.

You’ll build strong working relationships with researchers, funding bodies and potential partners and have the opportunity to contribute to the development of strategic plans and improve how we work—through smarter processes, clearer policies, and effective collaboration across the RSO, Division of Research, and Faculties.

You’ll report to the Associate Director, RSO, and while you won’t manage a team directly, you’ll be working with a wide range of stakeholders to get things done.

**Who you are**

You can demonstrate your high-level knowledge and understanding of the higher education sector, and the research environment and funding schemes, including experience in the strategic review and preparation of proposals in a major research or Government portfolio.

You’ll also have high level communication, project management and time management skills with the ability to respond to changing priorities and deadlines in high volume environments, as well as problem solving and analytical skills, the ability to research and analyse material and identify key issues to produce high level outcomes in both autonomous and team-based activities.
