**The Role**
The ALS Geochemistry Division in Stafford, Brisbane are seeking multiple Laboratory Assistants to join a team that strives to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time. The successful applicant will receive on-the-job training in the technical components and procedures of the role.

**The day to day**
Responsibilities may include:

- Preparation of geological samples for analyses
- Performing a range of digestions such as aqua regia and four-acid, using dangerous chemicals such as hydrofluoric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and perchloric acid.
- Operation of laboratory equipment including Loss on Ignition and Fused Disk furnaces
- Calibration of equipment.
- General housekeeping including but not limited to:

- Cleaning laboratory equipment
- Assisting in testing of reagents
- General Laboratory duties when required.

**The essentials**
- Be a team player who enjoys working within a group environment.
- Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
- Possess excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Have great attention to detail.
- Must be willing and able to work a rotating day/afternoon/night shift pattern.
- Be willing to work a reasonable amount of overtime when required.
- Availability to work weekend shifts desirable
