We own and operate a large fleet of plant and equipment and employ a large, diverse workforce that has extensive experience delivering large and complex utilities and civil infrastructure projects.

Ferrycarrig has made a significant contribution to some of Sydney’s largest and most significant infrastructure projects delivered in recent years, including Sydney Light Rail, Parramatta Light Rail, Sydney Metro, Western Sydney Airport, and the New Sydney Fish Markets.

Ferrycarrig Construction is currently seeking experienced, full-time Drainlayers to join our team on projects throughout Sydney and NSW.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Study blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of storm water and sewerage systems
- Excavate and level to line, depth and grade according to drawings and specifications;
- Set out and install below ground concrete and PVC sanitary and storm-water pipes;
- Carry out site drainage and de-watering procedures, employing storm-water, sub-soil and pumped systems;
- Test drainage systems;
- Locate and clear blockages in below ground systems;
- Install excavation supports in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements;
- Dig trenches to desired or required depths by hand or using trenching tools or machinery;
- Check slopes for conformance to requirements;
- Cut pipes to required lengths;
- Align and position pipes to prepare them for sealing;
- Connect pipe pieces and seal joints using cement;
- Cover pipes with earth or other materials

**Requirements**:

- Hold a relevant qualification and a minimum two years of work experience, or have at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment and tools effectively and safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

**Salary**:$70,000- $80,000**per annum + superannuation
