**Junior Buyer**

**Reports to**:GM of Retail & Merchandise

**Job Purpose**: The Junior Buyer is responsible for assisting in the selection and procurement of products within various categories to meet the company's objectives in sales, inventory, and margin goals. This role involves supporting the buying team in managing product assortments, maintaining supplier relationships, and analyzing market trends to ensure the retail environment remains competitive and appealing to customers.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Product Procurement and Sourcing**:

- Assist in the procurement of merchandise, ensuring selections align with the company’s strategy and customer preferences.
- Help manage relationships with vendors to negotiate prices, quantities, and delivery terms.
- Analyze sales reports and inventory data to recommend adjustments in buying strategies.
- Support the Senior Buyer in the selection of products and the development of an effective merchandise mix.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of stock.

**Market Analysis**:

- Stay informed of industry trends and consumer market behavior to anticipate product trends.
- Attend trade shows and review market research to gather insights that support buying decisions.
- Conduct competitor analysis to understand market dynamics and position our product offerings competitively.

**Supplier Management**:

- Coordinate with suppliers to resolve issues related to product quality, delivery, and invoices.
- Maintain a database of supplier information and product catalogs.

**Promotional and Seasonal Planning**:

- Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to develop promotional strategies for new and existing products.
- Assist in planning and executing seasonal buys, ensuring that product availability aligns with consumer demand peaks.

**Financial and Administrative Support**:

- Help manage the departmental budget by tracking spending against forecasts.
- Prepare purchase orders and maintain accurate records of transactions.
- Assist in the pricing strategy to meet revenue and profitability goals.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in a buying role within a retail environment preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Creative and strategic thinker with a passion for retail.

**Work Environment**:

- This role typically works in an office environment but may require travel to vendor locations and trade shows as needed.

This position is crucial in supporting the company’s strategic buying efforts, ensuring that our product offerings are aligned with market demands and company goals, driving sales, and enhancing customer satisfaction.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
